Can Acid Clean a Penny?

Glad you asked...
That all depends on what kind of acid it is. Some acids are really bad. Some can actually eat at the penny instead of clean it, but some acids like in lemon juice can clean a penny.

Then again, this answer might help you...

When a penny becomes dirty looking, it is due to tarnish on the copper. Acid will act as a cleanser as it will remove the buildup of the tarnish leaving the penny appearing shiny and new again.
