The Amazon Basin is located in South America and is home to 60% of the remaining tropical rain forests. This Basin helps control the climate in South America as well as North America and is nearly the size of the United States.

The Amazon Basin is an area in South America that contains the Amazon River and all of its tributaries. The area is covered with dense tropical forest and is surrounded by the Guiana Highlands in the north and the Brazilian Highlands in the south.
