CMP stands for Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. This blood test is used to evaluate how the kidneys and liver are working. It tests the levels of glucose, BUN (blood urea nitrogen, albumin, creatinine, calcium, liver enzymes (ALP, AST and ALT) and bilirubin. It also tests the levels of electrolytes in the blood such as sodium, chloride, carbon dioxide and potassium.
