It is estimated that humans have around 100 trillion cells. Now, under normal circumstances, a cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes. Twenty-two of those are known as autosomes, which look the same whether you are female or male. The last pair are referred to as the sex chromosomes, which determine your gender.
